Promote the rights of tenants
and control over their housing and environment by
information sharing between the organisation and the
local authority

Extend the right of
all tenants to participate and be consulted in the
formulation of council polices on housing and associated
issues, and to be represented on all matters and
policies that involve tenants and their homes.

Train tenants to be
confident and aware of the local authority consultation
structure and know how they can participate. Provide
a resource centre and support to Tenants and Residents
Associations across Southwark Borough, encourage and
support the formation of new representatives and
democratic tenants groups
·
Promote the harmonious
functioning of a multi-cultural community and to work
towards the elimination of all forms of racism and
discrimination within the community.
Providing adequate facilities that include all
sections of the community, and address areas of
exclusion due to language barriers, disabilities and
similar issues.

Work
with and support the inclusion of leaseholder residents
across the borough.
·
Improve networks between all
residents through representatives and inclusive forums
whilst working in partnership with other voluntary and
statutory organisations who share our objects, interests
and aspirations.

Regular
monitoring and evaluation of our services to ensure
desired impacts, development and growth of SGTO in the
years to come.
·
Raise
the profile of council housing as desirable, accessible,
well managed and maintained housing sector.
·
Ensure
an accountable, corporate and transparent management and
staff structure.
